Celeb Cars: Brad Pitt Sports New Camaro Ss
Brad Pitt is once again making headlines, but this time it isn't because Jen sent him another text message or because he and Angelina are adopting another child. Pitt has raced onto the front page of celebrity sites simple by stepping into a new Chevy Camaro SS, and fans are eager to get a look at his new set of wheels.
Celebrities often pass on their fame to the cars they drive, creating celebrity cars like Steve “Bullitt” McQueen's Mustang Fastback and James Dean's Porsche 550 Spyder. Even the Prius, certainly not a car with much sex appeal on its own, got a boost from the likes of John Travolta, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz. Brad Pitt is the newest celebrity to embrace a vehicle with serious muscle, and American motor fans are glad that he chose something domestic. Just days after clipping a car and crashing his motorcycle, Pitt was spotted with a new ride – this time of the four-wheeled variety.
Brad Pitt's flashy new Camaro SS is black and sports two orange racing stripes down the center. The Camaro is a 2010 model from Chevrolet that packs a wallop under the hood. According to Motortrend, the Camaro SS comes with a standard manual transmission strapped to a stout V-8 that produces 426 hp, propelling the Camaro from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 4.7 seconds. One of the test drivers labeled the car “pure sex,” and coupled with Pitt's world-renowned good looks, the two should be an almost irresistible pair.
Whether it was his intention or not, Pitt has become a Chevrolet spokesperson just by stepping into the Camaro SS as his new ride. GM and Chevrolet are sure to be happy with Brad Pitt's choice of their car, as the news is already gracing the front page of several celebrity watch websites. GM, Chevy's parent company, recently filed for bankruptcy and should be thankful that Pitt was kind enough to be caught in a few photos with the car. With one of the most recognizable faces in the world, images of Pitt driving the new Camaro SS are sure to boost sales for Chevrolet. The Camaro SS also received a fair bit of advertising from its appearance as Bumblebee in the 2007 box office hit Transformers. Although the car that appeared in the movie was a concept, it eventually paved the way for the car Pitt is driving now.
There is one issue with the Camaro. It has a smallish interior, and even less trunk space. And, with a wife and six kids, one has to wonder: where is the family going to sit on those long drives through the California countryside?
