Dodge Durango ads featuring Ron Burgundy
With a voice “that could make a wolverine purr and suits so fine they made Sinatra look like a hobo,” it seems Ron Burgundy can do no wrong—especially for the 2014 Dodge Durango. It’s been a little while since Will Ferrell returned to his role as anchorman Burgundy to pump out ads for this vehicle, and now adage.com has reported that his spokesmanship has had a direct effect on sales!
Ad Age reports:
Sales of the re-engineered Durango climbed 59% in October to 5,120 units and are up 50% for the year. Edmunds.com analyst Michelle Krebs said shopping for the Durango “soared on Edmunds.com after the ads launched” on Oct. 5.
I think it goes to show that Mr. Burgundy is, indeed, kind of a big deal.
